It has been raining all day, 12mm so far and the sky is gray as far as the eye can see.

Thanks Sparky. We appreciate it

My friend could have limped his truck to the store to pick up the parts he needed but he had to remove one part first to confirm which version he needed. And once he took it apart he was stranded on the farm until he got the new part.
So on Tuesday I drove Eccles to his place, took him for the part and we went for lunch, then back to his place and back home.
It was only about 2 hours on the bike but it is likely to be the most I'll do in a day this summer. And it was actually a nice ride in spite of the rain.
When I got home the rain gauge said 19mm had fallen since Monday afternoon.
And it was sunny & nice yesterday when we had to go out in the car :(
And it is raining again today but I have lots of indoor stuff to do :orange

BTW, The rain I mentioned in the post above this was 38mm by the time it stopped. I think the drought is over. In fact it looks like I'll be mowing grass soon.....

Been gorgeous since we got home. 70's and reasonable humidity. A bit dry and no rain in the 10 day. Need to mow but as dry as it is there i no rush

Bob, and as the old song goes, "we get by with a little help from our friends".
Hardly any rain here, I am about 280 miles east there was some rain, but it was mainly dry. Very strange weather. They say Ottawa got hammered.

I cut on Friday. Really looking dry now. I will probably put the sprinkler out for a bit this evening. Do not want the grass going dormant for lack of rain. Long range forecast say we "may" see some rain toward the end of the week. Otherwise it is just beautiful out. Walked 2 dogs this morning over 3 miles and never broke a sweat. Dang nice for this time of the year!!

It looks like another nice day that I'll spend mostly in the basement (there have been a lot of those his year). The yard really needs mowing but I have a helper for downstairs this weekend so that will have to wait a day or 2 more.

Our official rain measurement for yesterday was 3.45 inches. Some areas here got over 7 inches. Nasty day

It has been sunny with highs in the mid 20s and lows warm enough to leave a bedroom window open overnight. But we haven't had a drop here for over a week. Everything is still green and I had to mow the yard before it got any higher but if this keeps up I may need to start watering the garden again.

This is typical of how St Louis gets spared from many but not all weather systems. Some say the confluence of two major rivers will somehow force the disturbance to veer away from the city. We do still get some severe storms from time to time but not as many as surrounding areas.

Been a very dry month for us. We had one 24 hour period of 3 plus inches and I think that is all we have had. Moderate chances over the next couple days. Hot today. Going to the beach to walk dogs then hopefully the dew will be gone and I can mow the weeds. Should be very close to the final cut for the year.

Most of our garden would be fine with a bit more rain than we've been having but not everything.
We had heavy rain for a few minutes Sunday evening and it nearly destroyed this plant. Apparently the buds can absorb water and become heavy enough that the branches pull the trunk apart. A friend with more experience growing them came over and we bound the trunk back together with Gorilla Tape and tied it to the top of the tomato trellis for support.
As of this morning it still looks green & healthy (in spite of another brief heavy rainfall Monday) but we won't know for sure for a few more days.

More rain in the forecast this afternoon. Hopefully I can roll the saw outside to cut some wood and get it back inside before it gets wet.
