Sounds a lot like John Denver. Not the voice, but the guitar style and the kind of song. I always enjoyed John Denver.

Air pressure in helicopter rotor blades? How is compressed air used in rotor blades? Deicers on the leading edge?
In some helicopters they pressurize the hollow blades and then monitor the pressure as an aid in crack detection.
That was an interesting bit of info. Still lernin stuffs.

It was -18C / 0F here this morning. Only February and I am so fed up with winter. About another six weeks to go. Me and the wife are hoping to sell our house and move back to BC. Oh I hope that plan works out.

A first for me, I am sending this from 35,000 feet on United Airlines flight 289 bound for Miami. Then onto the carribbean on Tuesday for 2 weeks of sun & fun with the wife. Given her battle with Cancer, which is still ongoing, we decided to treat ourselves.

To my fellow NGWers stay warm, I'll will have a Rum and toast your good health.

Enjoy. After the cold you guys have had you deserve it.

It looks like winter here now.

I have always carried a snow brush but one morning a couple of years ago they were forecasting freezing rain so I decided to throw a cheap tarp in the sidecar to put over the fairing & seat so I didn't have to scrape. I liked the idea so much that I bought a cheap bike cover so I wouldn't have to brush snow out of the instrument panel & fairing switch panel. On Friday we got a few of light, fluffy stuff and, of course, I didn't put the cover on so I had to brush Eccles off after work. At home the drift across the driveway was over a foot deep but it was so light Eccles didn't notice it. It was almost a foot deep over the whole driveway by the time the guy came to plow it and he was back to remove another 6" or so this afternoon.

Well, in spite of the bad reputation that Scotland has for weather, I really haven't seen anything much that could be call Winter.
Wet yes, that goes without saying especially for the west coast where I am, but even that hasn't been too bad. We had about 2" snow that lay for two or three days two weeks ago and some chilly days, but the lowest temperature I've seen so far -5C at 4am one night. One major storm with winds up to 113mph in some parts of the country ( just under 95mph here in Glasgow), but really nothing to get het up about so far,

Good Evening Folks;
Here we are in the middle of week 8 of this 'deep freeze / polar vortex' record setting winter. The coldest February on record, the weather folks are saying. We are being teased with the forecast of a sunny weekend with daytime temperatures up close to freezing. But we have a few days more to endure, as we 'speak' it is 2 below and headed to 12 below by early morning.
