Re: VAINCRE PROJECT BLOG
There was a thread on here where the final word on those silencers was that they are no longer produced.
Looks like time to make some replicas!

SunnBob,
These are similiar but pricey. Also they spin...that might be a deal breaker or an up-grade depending on how you look at it.

Cool look - personally I do not like the spin and didn't read enough to quite understand it. The "barrels" spin? Spinning parts at the end of the exhaust? MMmmmm.... Or are there internal parts, unseen, that spin. Beautiful pipes for the right bike - looks and sounds like they are well made.
Shalom, Marc

Re: VAINCRE PROJECT BLOG
Thanks Confish! After discussions regarding style, peformance and sound, we had decided to go a different direction with the exhaust. The original Bulldog exhaust looks cool, however, it does not enhance performance like a tunable exhaust would, and after talking with someone who has a set of the Exozists, they are very loud. Combined with the fact you cannot buy them any longer, we are looking at other radical designs..
We (Jerome and I) talked about this last night and came to the decision. I appreciate everyone looking, and Con/Duke, if you ever need some polishing, you are going to get a great deal...

Re: VAINCRE PROJECT BLOG
Depending on what you are looking for (knowing you it is probably style over function?) you might want to talk to Brant. I think his is one of the best sounding GL's I have ever heard. It looks like a conglomeration of pipes but boy does it sound sweet.

Re: VAINCRE PROJECT BLOG
I love Brants sound. Followed him around Deadwood just to hear it. I agree it is the best sound I have ever heard on a wing. Can we bottle it?
Performance is key here, sound is second, but it has to look right too. This is the fun part.
We are not going to produce an exact copy of the original Bulldog. Rather, using the Bulldog as a general theme, this bike will become a build that can stand on it's own. I hope I can do justice to Octane's amazing design and documentation!
I have not only been snowed in, but my truck is sitting in the driveway waiting for the mechanic to finish the headwork. The snow and cold has brought everything to a standstill. Good timing though, as I have been busy working and ordering parts on the net, as well as researching ideas. The Powdercoated frame and tank are finished, and as soon as my wheels are back up I will be back on track...
I ordered the custom Corbin yesterday as well as the Tarozzi clip-ons. The new rims are to be shipped later this week, and I have been in contact with Fishhead Big Brakes. Randakk is sending me an oil cooler adapter along with other parts. Decided to go with the GL1200 clutch and hydrualic conversion. Rebuild parts are on their way here.
Somewhere in this insanity I am going to find time to work out the paint scheme. While the idea was to use similar graphics to the Bulldog, other ideas have emerged worth exploring.
I am pretty sure I am going to go with an AMD500 Supercharger. I have ordered a couple of books to allow me to calculate the plenum and gearing ratios, as well as the cooling system. That's as far as I have gone so far. I have several contacts here locally that play with superchargers as well as CNC machine shops that are very good. This little place I live in is the capitol of Dirt Sprint car racing and shops. Amazing the shops that I find around here in the middle of nowhere, and the knowledge inside them!
This is the general direction of the pipes we are now looking at.
