#1

Post by RVFOX »

Anyone have any thoughts on what the value of a used two person tent
trailer. (size 4ft x5ft weight approx 350 lbs) would be?

it's going to be down to the general condition/age/desirability and what the purchaser is prepared to pay....

i bought a secondhand Randger a few years ago to take the family away on a touring holiday (2 bedrooms and sitting area with built in kitchen ), paid £250 U.K. for it then spent another £50 U.K. waterproofing it, used it just the once and had it sit around for 18months, i sold it in the end for my original £250 U.K. back.

i felt that it was ok for the experience but i would probably be looking for a Conway if i ever did it again.

Doubt i've actually helped you with your question
Sorry
it ain't broke yet .........

obviously haven't tinkered enough

What you described didn't sound like something that could be pulled by a gold wing. The following link shows a picture of the trailer. which might give you a better Idea. http://www.freewebs.com/foxtechnical/li ... age002.jpg

Again riders in teh USA have a big advantage over the riders in the UK when it comes to trailers and sizes allowed. I have a trailer tent that is legal for towing behind a solo motorcycle here though. See this link:

Easy to tow behind my 1500 but still a bit heavy for the 1000/1100 models.

Use tent trailer to pull behind motorcycle dosen't come by often and when they do they are just about the same price as the new one, unless if it one who need lot of repair don't really expect to find one below 2000.00/2500.00 CDN.

sorry RVFOX, i meant that i pulled it behind my car, took the kids as well.

it was way too big/heavy to put behind a bike, i was just trying to give an idea of they're usually only worth what someone is prepared to pay (same as anything else really)

I've seen those (if it's what I think it is) going anywhere from $1500 to $2500 US. Depending on age & condition. They go for around $3500 new.
