Greetings,
Damn, that "screaming yellow" Valk is NICE!!!
One of the cleanest I have ever seen.
Do you know who owns it or who built it?
Cheers,
Joe Petty

Not "off-the-wall" crazy, but it is "different". Check out my album!

 Notice how custom wings with all the pretty paint still have the frame unmolested? It ain''t custom until some steel comes off! Cut it weld it beat it into submission make it differant.

I admit, my first build was kinda mild.... Starting on a trike project, should be plenty of metal molesting going on!

Zryder wrote:I feel alot of GLers have this post WRONG . Its NOT about stock upkeep and rebuilding your GL to stock specs , but customg building and off the wall customizing to thier GLs . I do see the odd few are doing some custome work but majority is stock upkeep . If that is what it is here we'll change the title of this section to suit .
I got my pics up to check out. Thank Rat.

Wheel Hugger

#72

Post by Zero-G »

Here's a little off the wall thing I did to mine. Took the heads to be cut last Thursday and I had all the free time and nothing to do since the bike is almost done so I kept looking at the rear wheel (has the fender cut off) sitting there all open and then I remember I did save the back part of that fender so I made a wheel hugger out of it. Took out 1 1/4" out of the center and re-welded it in order to fit the tire and made some brackets from 1/8" steel. Right brackets mounts to one of the bolts on the shaft hub and two left brackets mount to the bottom of the shock and brake caliper bolt. Two brackets on the left were required to secure any movement and crowbar was the main alignment tool used. Bike is painted black so in order to keep this part separated I sprayed it with the undercoating to give it some texture and shot some clear over it; there's a custom scoop under the radiator in the front that's painted the same. I'll post some pictures as soon as I pass the 10 limit posting requirement.

ps. heads are still at the machine shop (5th day and counting)
Ride it like you built it.
