7 V Regulator
My 1975 GL 1000 (Australian model) does not have a 7V Regulator. Is it ment to have one?

Are you sure? It is needede for the temperature gauge and fuel level gauge. My "Australian" schematic show it as there. However only the "US" models had the "Reserve Lighting Unit." It "should" be on the left side, just below the winker flasher.

roncar reply
Many thanks 'roncar' for the reply. I gues we dont need the reserve lighting. However, I will check if the 7V Regulator is below the 'winker flasher'. Regards "Rocky'

Well said Cookie. We "downunders'" get these rushes of blood from time to time. The upside is, that when we get to the other side of the sun, the blood gets to our feet. Thank goodness this only happens twice a day.Cookie wrote:I'm holding in a joke about the OZ models having it upside down.

Kiwi (NEW Zealander)
Cookie, It reminds me of a story I heard about a Kiwi, a Cuban, a Scottish and an Aussie traveller - they had an enjoyable meal and decided to go on deck and enjoy each others company.Cookie wrote:Wife is a Kiwi, she says you should find a good Kiwi mechanic to show you where it is. According to the Prime minister they are all over in Oz anyway.
The Cuban produced a Cuban cigar( hand rolled on a maidens thigh) ,lit it and had two puffs of the cigar and threw it over board. He was asked why? (reply -Plenty where I come from). Later the Scot opend a bottle of 25 yr old single malt scotch, took a swig and threw it overboard. When asked why? (reply -Plenty where I come from). With that the Aussie picked up the Kiwi and threw him overboard.!!!
No offence intended. Kiwwi'es tell the tale in reverse.

When I was living in OZ I heard them reversed a lot.
When I retire I will move to Kiwi and spend my time making up OZ jokes.
Looks like I'll have to select at least one of my Goldwings to take over as they are kind of rare.

New Zeland is one of my favourite countries in the Southern reagion. I feel you will need to take a few GL1000s' there. The roads are exelent and good riding.
My wife and I will be going to the North Island for the third time soon.
All the best from "Rocky"
