Here's the image I've been working on. Took me forever to get this image into this shape...

Anyone want to help me on this? I can send you my Large image... I'm thinking of adding an S winding road below the bike and going off towards the middle left.

Sorry dude I would but I got zero skills in this department. Roady is one of our graphics guys but since the house move he has had his hands full. Might give him a nudge and see if he can make some time to look at it.

Now wait a darn minute there!
This is a competition and I've got my own design to work on. :flamer

Actually, that's looking pretty good. What you need to do is find a pic (or shoot one) of the road that you'd like behind the bike. Make your bike pic with a transparent background, white bike. Put down a base layer of black, then the road pic and bike pic.

okay, just an idea, but would vetter threaten to sue if the design was a trash can overflowing with windjammers and saddlebags?

Hey Everyone. I'd like to push the contest date up a bit. I know this is short notice but I want to make sure these Tee Shirts get made and all delivery arrangements are handled. The reason for this sudden change is due to an impending surgery on my knee sometime in April. For those of you who don't know, I slipped on some ice back at the first of Februrary and really screwed up my left knee. As it stands, the knee cap fracture has healed (as well as can be expected) however, there's other damage and corrective surgery that needs to happen. I saw another specialist yesterday and this is what's going to happen. My knee cap is going to be shifted a bit to the inside of the joint, a tendon graft is going to be placed from the fenur to the cap to keep the cap from slipping to the outside and the outside tendons are going to be reduced a little all in an effort to help prevent my knee cap from slipping out of place again. At the moment I'm waiting on all the approvials from the insurance company. Once that happens it'll be just a couple more weeks for the surgery to be scheduled. I'll have my leg imobilized for 6 weeks to allow the tendon grafts to heal and then several months of the theropy to get the knee to work correctly. At this time I'm very doubtful I'll be riding before late September. So, the only way I'll be attending the Ohio rally will be in a car.

Anyway, the point of all this is that I want these tee shirts made and I want to do it before I get roped into all the therapy and other distractions. I would like to propose the date of April 16 as the begining of the judging. This should be around the time of my surgery. In order to put the contest together I would like the entries to be formally submitted by April 11. I still want to hold the judging for at least 1 week to allow as many votes as possible. Based on the actual surgery date and how long I'm out of it this may be extended a little. Then, I'll officially start taking orders probably through the end of May. At that time the shirts will be ordered, mailed out to those who are requesting them by mail. For those wanting to pick up the shirts at the rally I'll see to it that Neil gets all the remaining shirts. One nice thing is that the trophy shop where the shirts are going to be made is only a couple shops away from where I'm taking therapy, so at least it'll be convienent for me!

As it stands I'm not going to make a firm comittment to these dates. I just don't know what's going to happen over the next month. I just wanted to let you all know what's going on and I want to make sure these shirts get made. And I want to wear mine even if I'm not able to attend. (This is actually the real driving force to getting these done a little earlier!) I Want My Shirt! I'm still planning on attending but I'm not sure if it's going to happen.

So, that's the plan. Up until the surgery, I'm going to be attending physical therapy in order to strengthen my leg as much as possible and working on getting it to bend. At the moment I'm not able to hold up a bike or bend my leg enough to sit and shift. But I'll be working hard enough on therapy to get in atleast a ride or two (my fingers are crossed!)- even if I have to take the Rebel 450 out. It's a good bit lighter than the wing, sits a lot lower and it's much easier to handle so it will be a lot less stress on my leg.

Very sorry to have to inform you of this but recent events being what they are I doubt that taking any thing other than myself to the event will be impossible. Blame it on the economy but the company I worked for has been hammered very hard by our client and manpower has been decreased to the point that my services were no longer needed in this region. I will most likely be moving to a different state and at this point which state has not been finalized yet but it is down to 2, Kentucky or Arizona. That will depend on contracts and negotiations. Damn the torpedoes ... full steam ahead.

OK, so as you heard from Neil... It's now down to individual mailings of the tee shirts unless I can get someone close to get them.

If you are just talking about someone to ship them to and carry them to the meet I can do that. I will be driving a pickup truck with a trailer load of parts so a box of T Shirts is not an issue.

Neil Sorry to hear about your situation. Crapy dealings going on everywhere right now. Best friend just lost his job and he worked for his Uncle!

Hope the surgery goes well, Paul. I fell lonto a garden rockery as a kid, dislocating my left kneecap, fortunately without incurring the damage that you have. But I still remember the pain!! Oh, the PAIN!!

Neil, very sorry to hear you've been dealt another crap hand. After getting over your other problems last year, I sure you didn't need this! But your positive attitude to life will pull you through again buddy! Good luck!

Thanks John, Steve, but with all things there is usually a good side as well and with the weather turning warmer it's not a bad time to be laid off for awhile ... I can now be out riding until this gets sorted out and then get busy again.

Cheers
