The handlebars stock? They look taller than stock, could be the angle of the picture....

Why do so may '75 and '76 bikes end up with 1977 seats? Is that just the newest factor back in the late 70's where the new model came out and everybody thought they needed to upgrade? Seems like a '75 seat is right in there with the grab bar as far as hard to find good parts. None the less, that is one sharp example of a '75. Boy those wheels look excellent for 35 years in service.

One reason, they used the 75-76 seats as a model for the common 2 X 6, have you sat on one ?

I have a nice example of a 75 with a 77 seat on it, yes I'm looking for the correct seat, it needs the normal repairs cables, belts, tires. There just a great bikes that need to be correct....

When I got my '75 back in the day, the seat didn't last a month before it was changed out.

Here is how she sits today. Carbs are back from Pistol Pete but not installed. Rear wheel is off getting new bearings installed. Fuel tank is back from cleaning but not installed. The drive shaft u joints had some play (click click) so I will use the new one I bought for a "someday spare". Who knew that "someday" would come so soon? The clutch cover is sanded and will be repainted as it was corroded ugly on one side. The swing arm bearings were toast as were the pivot collars. This is what happens when they sit for 14 years. They will be upgraded to the longer bearings with the roller bearing thrust bushes. The swing arm itself will be off this week to be media blasted and powder coated (after the shock bush is removed) along with the center stand and battery box. So what's next? Minor touch up on the back part of the frame (light surface rust) and complete brake system rebuild front and rear.

That's a great photo, I was just going to open a thread asking about the pin striping configuration on a 75, but your photo solves that one for me. I'm assuming it's correct. I would like to ask what the actual color of the pin striping is? It looks like maybe gold or beige? My restoration will be the red paint version, same year as yours.

The pin stripping is Gold and Orange and yes, it is original.
The rear wheel is back with new bearings installed. The swing arm and other parts have yet to go off for powder coating because I went to Las Vegas instead, so there.
The clutch cover is now painted and looks too good to go back on the bike (isn't that always the case?). Stay tuned.

OK, it's been a few days so I thought I would show the latest. The MOTAD exhaust is fitted (don't try this at home, it's a bitch) the rebuilt calipers (with stainless steel pistons all around) are on as are the rebuilt masters front and rear. Note that there are no front brake lines installed. It's not that I don't have new ones, it's the new ones that just do not fit. Too long is too long, I don't care what the sellers say.
It has not been started since February (when I sent the carbs to Pistol Pete) so that happens this week if the battery is willing.
