Got an '82 GL500 now

for those of you that have M.B.S. (multiple bike syndrome) and have the "silver wing" models.
as our sponsors also have supplies for those bikes and they are popular with the "wing" crowd.

Got an '82 GL500 now

Just letting the world know I came home with an '82 yesterday. First time for me, after a dozen GoldWings. This one spent most of it's life in Texas, passed thru 3 owners in the past year, here in MO. Faded purple(?) paint, but it's got new tires, no leaks, full Hondaline fairing and Interstate bags and trunk. AND it actually runs and has a title!
It seems nobody liked it lately. No wonder, the front forks have no oil in them, seals shot, 48K for milage.
Spent this morning getting aquainted, took off the OEM mufflers, installed Harleys, still quiet but nicer looking. Both mufflers are in one piece, but left one painted flat black(to cover rust), right side still in good shape.
What is missing and I would like to find...fairing lowers, right side pannier/panel for the air intake. One bag has a missing chrome piece that the key latch hooks onto. I'd like to know if there are engine guards available for GL500.
Anybody got some of these parts and want to sell, PM me, please. I'll also put a "wanted" list up, later.
Seat needs to be replaced/recovered, but that's a ways off yet.
The difficult can be done in a day. The impossible takes a little longer, if you don't know it can't be done.

I hope it will be a great bike...for somebody when I get it done. Seat is now recovered, Harley mufflers, fork seals are in the mail, after being sent to the wrong person nearly 2 weeks ago. Fairing lowers on the way, courtesy of ebay seller. Found a neat little black box under the trunk. It turns the rear single element signals into duals. The signals had red lenses in place of yellow ones, the black box would turn the signals into running lights and when the directional was needed, the light would flash! Called "Priority Lights" made in Austin, TX.
I removed the box, replaced the red with yellow lenses, back to OEM. Black Box will go on my customized Wing.
