I have thought for several days for the right words to put into print. I am still searching and and can not find them.
Christine, you have to be one of the strongest people I know of. I can not imagine of sitting down and composing such a message. You have shown your strength, thinking only of others at a time of such great personal loss.
May God be with you and your family, giving all of you both peace and comfort!

I had thought just that, at the time she inserted the very first post, but didn't quite know how to say so. You nailed it beautifully!terry_208 wrote: Christine, you have to be one of the strongest people I know of. I can not imagine of sitting down and composing such a message. Christine,
I have been off this board for almost two months due to work schedules.
I never met Cookie but I always took the time to read his posts for their knowledge, insight, common sense and humor.
He will be missed greatly.
My added condolences on your loss of a man who was obviously universally loved and respected.

Re: RIP Cookie 1950 - 2011
Cookie was and always will be such a MAJOR force on this board. In the 4 years we had the pleasure of his company here, he made an incredible 15,818 posts - almost 5% of all posts ever made, with nearly 6,000 contributions to Goldwing Tech Discussion alone.
But it wasn't the quantity of his posts that caught my attention. It was the helpful, cheerful and encouraging nature of what he wrote, as well as the breadth and depth of his knowledge about motorcycles and all things mechanical.
Here's Cookie's first post on October 25, 2007:
http://www.ngwclub.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 593#p66593
Here's the famous thread he started with "So this guy walks into a chat room":
http://www.ngwclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8870
Everyone here has been affected by Cookie. He provided all kinds of helpful input when snowfan and I were confronted with some confounding carburetor issues and countless other problems with our GoldWings. We had talked a few times about getting together for a ride, living only 30 or so miles apart, but sadly that never came to be. Another reminder not to put off a chance to be with friends and family, and especially a guy with two sidecars.
R.I.P.

For me the waterworks started as soon as I logged in and saw the heading on the page. Since losing my 78 to fire last year, and my new one not up yet, have not been on in a couple months.. Cookie was one of the first to help me on this site, and one of the best... I am among many who will miss him here...Walking Eagle wrote:A sad day for all of us who felt this guy's warmth, even if only via this medium. Christine, I never met either of you wonderful people, but you must know what a legacy Cookie left behind, and that legacy will last and last.
Didn't this guy just "nail it" for how to offer up wisdom with NO negative comments, and always that funny, open-heart thing?
That shot of Cookie in his ManCave for a final visit started the waterworks for me!
