Crescent Moon woes.....

#1

Post by r.hesse »

Hi all from Germany and my best christmas greetings to the entire commuity!

Buddy of mine ordered a dipstick weeks ago at CM ad there is no delivery neither any reponse to several eMail inquieries.

As I understand CM is a main sponsor of NGW and has a good reputation here.

Are they having any problems? broke? out of business?

Any CM guy here in this forum?

Any hint appreciated

Thanks Ralf

Hi Ralf and welcome from the UK. If you mean http://www.cmsnl.com/, then I am surprised, I have found them pretty good, so maybe you need to be patient! They are now shut until January 2nd, but I'd try again then. I have found some sites better than others, and the most frustrating bit, especially from the US, is they list an item as being in stock, so you go through the performance of registering and paying, only to get an e-mail a few days later saying the item is out of stock/obsolete. If you have the time to search, you can normally get the parts from somewhere, I have bought individual parts from the US, Holland and NZ, as well as the UK!
Anyway, there are some great guys here, who are willing and able to pass on their knowledge and experience.

1985 GL650 Silverwing another mistake, horrible bike

More information here.

It says....,

"Well it’s almost been six months. We will be launching a new searchable web site soon! The new address is http://www.vintagemotorcycleparts.us. We are also changing the name. Crescent Moon Cycles will become: Ye Olde Motorcycle Shoppe. Kind of an out of the ashes things. info@crescentmooncycles.com is still active!"

The new web site does not look like they have it together yet. The old web site, crescentmooncycles.com is still active but no business on it. That one still says they are a NGW sponsor. I don't know how anybody finds them to buy anything. I used to deal with them and my experience was that email was not always the best way to communicate and phone calls got a better response. They always came through in the end.

That's too bad. I knew something was up when they were selling used timing belts on EBay. :IDTS:

I don't know him and haven't dealt with him, buy I recall him having to pick up and move for a stretch, and I believe he shut down for a while. He may just be away. He might be ill. He was a pretty regular contributor here a couple years ago.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

They moved their store to AZ..lots of issues//then open up a new store in Prescott, AZ took awhile to get going again..then closed the new shop but kept the online store going ..then revamped that..too many changes too quickly for a business..nice people..too much going on too fast. Just my opinion.

I just noticed they are listed on the Shop Talk page as a provider "Recommended by NGW members." The link goes to their old web site. I would not be recommending them until they get it together again, and I hope they do. I always appreciated their knowledge of and devotion to the old bikes but rapid communication and quick shipping were not always to be expected.
