Hi Mike. You must of known Dale Walker @ Hole Shot Performance-Chris C. CC Products-Russ Collins RC Engineering-Kerker-Bassini pipes- KV Products Dyna-Marteck-maxie dwell-prestolite etc, etc, and all the other trend setters back in the day of the "Glided Age" invasion from Japan in the US of A when we were young laddies that made it all happen back then and of course, the 70's laguna seca races with King kenny-spencer-romero-lawson etc, battling in out around the cork screw :<)

I remember when the Smoking 1979 CBX was touted to break into the high 11's as per the first Cycle mag test run in 78, but when production bikes arrived, they were running in the low 12's. Honda rushed a revised ignition advance unit to be fitted to all prior to selling, or least the story goes Once Upon A Time :<)

Great website you have, bringing back many memories from my calif youth=thanks.

Ah, yes. GEM final drives, Prestolite Products, and Amol Precision needle bearing kits. I knew the guy at Amol who made the kits. He made them for a lot of different Honda models. Had a set in my CB500 Four back in the 70s. :-). And KV, Dyna's original name, not too many people know that. I worked at a Honda dealership in West Covina, CA not far from KIllovolt's original location, remember talking to an engineer there once, about the whole performance ignition subject. Also Russ Collins. Did you guys know that Collins' son is active on the SOHC4 forum? And Russ himself is in the racing fuel injector tuning business. So the Collins name is still being promoted. And what about Gerex and Maxidwell and Jacwall and S&W and....yup, brings back memories. :-)

I have some of those GWRRA tour pins too. Was even a tour guide once, while an employee at American Honda. Til Thompson, remember that name? He was the one whose rally, the Aspencade, inspired Honda for the name of their Gold Wing so named. Til received a free new Aspencade in thanks. His girlfriend at the time was buddies with my girlfriend. Can you tell how old I must be by now....?
