Hey all, small update here...haven't been doing much because it's been really hot here, and I've been getting the Ninja ready for a trip to Deal's Gap in a few weeks.
Got the brakes all worked out. So all that is left right now is exhaust and I need to order and wire the EFI. I should be getting back into it after my trip. I'll let the pics do the talking

Looking good, especially that front end. Might be a bit messy trying to add brake fluid?

I used one of these inserted to the end of the tubing.Easter wrote:Looking good, especially that front end. Might be a bit messy trying to add brake fluid?

Re: For lack of a better name...GL1100 FITT build
Are they just vinyl tubing? With caps on the top? What will keep them from collapsing as the fluid is drawn down as the pads wear and pistons move further out? With the stock type reservoir the rubber piece under the cap handles that.Norbert R wrote:snip...........

Re: For lack of a better name...GL1100 FITT build
The tubing is called Tygon 2375. This type of reservoir is common on superbike race bikes. The rubber cap is probably temporary but i cut slits in the top so it will vent for fluid expansion. A breather cap is normally used, really all that needs to happen is keep water and junk out but let the fluid expand and contract as it heats and cools. Some folks just use bolts and allow the threads to leak the air.

Re: For lack of a better name...GL1100 FITT build
Just wanted to update on the progress, or lack there of...
I know most FI builds have died on here but if you've been following you'll know I'm employed by the US government...and with the current shutdown I'm waiting until my paychecks resume before continuing the project. Until then I'll be working for free.
All that I need is to order the ECU, get it wired in...and have some welding done for the O2 sensors on the exhaust...
Again, thanks for following...hopefully I can make some progress soon!
