Colour Schematics - free to download from gallery

#1

Post by Sidecar Bob »

I have stitched all of the GL1000 and GL1100 2 page colour schematics together into single page images and cleaned them up a bit. They are 2048 x 1536 pixels and in the 550-620 Kb range, so they aren't too big to e-mail.

Don't download the images shown here. These are only screen size sample views.
To make sure you get the full size 2048 x 1536 pixel versions click on "Download Large Version" under the ones you want

If anyone has colour schematics of the GL1200I and -A, please scan them at the best resolution and e-mail them to me so that I can do them too.

very nice Bob. THANKS!

if I can get a few bucks I'm gonna have Kinky's print me out one "landscape" format in 1/2 poster size & laminate it (I don't have access to a color printer that size anymore). ought to look good hanging on the wall in the "shop".

my original '79 bought in '91 - replacing engine (eventually, maybe someday)
added an '05 1800 to the stable, all the rest gotta go

It just occurred to me: If you get it laminated you should be able to use white board markers on it. This means that when you do mods you can draw them on it in colour as you work, scan it, print a copy for reference, and wipe the marks off so that the drawing is still original.

I used to open up harnesses to modify wiring, but for the last dozen years or so I have simply made up sub harnesses that plug into the original wiring. That way, if(when) I decide to change it later I just change the sub harness instead of having to open up the main harness again. It would be nice to have coppies of what I did in the past drawn directly onto the schematic so that I can see the way it used to be.

It's an '8s with a '79 engine. A few years ago I put the back cover & kickstart from a '77 on it so I can tell people that '83 was the last year GL1000s had a kickstart ;-)

Not yet.

BTW: I have noticed these schematics available for download elsewhere on the internet in this form and that's fine with me. I do not seek credit because all I did was clean up someone else's scans of published drawings and join the halves together.

I now have the 1984 GL1200 Standard (same instructions as for the rest). I am still looking for the GL1200I & GL1200A.

Bob,

I added the 1200 drawing to your original post. Good job on maintaining and updating this thread.

Also added direct links to the larger versions, hope'n you don't mind.
Now you need to edit the instructions again. shakehands
