Tach removal

Quick question - To remove the tach on a '77, do you first have to remove the entire gauge/indicator light assembly from the bike, or can the tach be removed separately? I don't see in the Honda manual where this is covered. I thought I might get a heads-up before I go out to start. Thanks!

You can removed it by disconnecting the cable, and removing the two screws in the center of the cover from the rear
