Check Valve or not?

#1

Post by Hook#3287 »

I'm using Octane's excellent write up on brake rebuilding and can't tell if I use the check valve in the front master cylinder or not. Octans says NOT on the 78 but the Clymer manual says yes on the 78. Can anyone tell me if I use it or throw it out?

Answered my own question . I was looking at figure 2 in the clymer manual and it states (1975-1978) at the bottom. In the step by step it states "9 remove piston, spring, and check valve (1975-1977 only)"

Lesson learned, read ALL the steps first. Mostly likely, lesson soon forgotten. :-?
