83 Not Naked

Went through an 83 Aspy which was left out in the weather for years then given to me. Bike is now pretty sound and she and I have been on some get-A-ways together. I love her but she's ugly. Two days ago I purchased an 83 Interstate with a bad motor but a great original seat and very good plastic in hopes of an upcoming facelift. Here is my question and request for advice and instruction. I want to put the outer shell of the Interstate fairing on the inner shell of the Aspy fairing. Anyone done this?

I don't think so and the shells are glued togetehr not easy to get them apart w/o damage..but I think they are the same size/shape etc.

Figured it wasn't practical. Couldn't find much info. about doing this. Thanks
