There seems to be a never ending supply of bits to clean and paint.. I am essentially waitng for several items like gaiters, Rec/Reg, L/H switch and lever but while i wait there is plenty to do...I have refurbished rear master cylinder, painted and fitted, fuel lines, triple tree, rear brake lever, and lot of mini bit that need to be done eventually...

Just because the front calipers had nice paint and what looked like new fresh rubber's, my synical "olfart" thingy compells me to pull them apart................ Just as well i did !!! Now all clean with a pair of new oring seals (not just one).. New paint and ready to assemble tomorrow...

I received gaiters in the mail today so forks and calipers can be installed. ASAp .. Also picked up new Dynatech coils and leads today..

I got sick of cleaning and painting bits for the moment and yesterday decide to "tidy up" the wiring harness as todays "project"... I have a rec/reg unit coming, Honda 750 switch blocks and going to run an single Acewell gauge.. Got out of bed this morning felt like crap and thought &%$@#^* wiring

My thoughts were to "minimise" the original harness... particularly the diodes, disconnect switch, excess regulator and regulator wiring, headlight harness, gauge harness, and am also going to use a single on/off key switch so that ignition switch harness is reduced also a blade type fusebox.. Tomorrow will/may see it refined enough to temporarily fit and when all electric components are on hand it should be a simple "snip and tuck" (famous last words)
All new terminals will also be fitted as well as those junction box thingys..

Well i made some progress "as you can see"
... Thinned out the harness "a bit", decided to reuse original fuse box. (because its a not broken thingy)

I do have a slight colour blindness which also makes it a bit of a problem with certain mixes of colours but its not that hard and generally works out

Think i will move on to disc drilling tomorrow, because its friday here and the postman didnt leave me several items that are required to enhance the electrics

I had a nothing done rainy day today... Found this and could imagine it on the walls of a French or Italian villa.... I also visualise it in my garage/workshop... covered in dust, spider webs and the swallows nesting in it.....

I have been a bit distracted with other projects but finally received some parcels, eg spokes, front brake M/C (15.8mm bore) and handle bars.... but no electronics Grrrrrrrrrrrr
Front wheel went together and fitted to forks in a couple of hours, yet to be trued op though. Looks real close with a 5mm "buckle" and heres a new word i have made up as i dont know what its called except for "ovality" (axle centre to rim Out/Dia distance)...
I spent the next 4 hour on the rear rim and have neverseize spread from here to breakfast, on offf on offf ... its being a real PITA... Im starting to think that "angle" of the spokes are not right... but... i have powdercoated the hubs and the rear rim has way shorter spokes and greater angles........... Sleep on it i think and start-a-fresh tomorrow...

I have been slaving
away the last few days and have made positive progress.. I found out why the rear wheel was being a PITA .. Short story is ..... when the spoke "groups" are seperated into 10 groups x4 spokes i would tape a pair together with masking tape, so the dont flop all over... that was the mistake, so i used rubber bands to hold "pairs" and were adjustable...

With rubber band it was easy to "reduce/adjust " the outside circumfurance of spokes...

And clear or opaque straws would be better so you can see where the spokes are... Both rims are now fitted and have been/was patiently waiting for my new spoke spanner which did not arrive today (Friday) so will use old spanner and methods...

Drilled the pair and marked outside circ of rotors so that i can fit them 180deg's opposite to offset any miss drills/measures... A bit anal but it will "balance" the rotors..

I know this is basic stuff that people may do to bikes and apologise if it been covered before.. It feels a bit like telling your mother how to cook an egg.

Well i finally received the reg/rect or the "heart" of the electrical system today so i can focus on that mess of wires and move forward.. If i recall correctly another NGW member used one of these for his project and detailed where/what/how he did it.... I have researched the "search" bar and not found the post i was thinking of..
PLease Please let me if you disagree, but me being a knob electrician have a simplistic plan and it goes...
There are 8 wires on new R/R...
3 yellow receive 3 yellow from alt
2 red can go directly to battery positive ...... ??
2 green can go directly battery negative or ground/earth.....??
1 black............ ????????????????????????????????????????? discard or connect into "POWER AFTER THE IGNITION SWITCH" Im unsure about this black from R/R... I have read snip/tuckup black (discard which is my thoughts)
