A while ago, I removed LH switch to change out handle bars, and although i kept everything, I don't know how to reassemble it. I usually like a good puzzle, but I'm not enjoying this.
Anyone got one laying around and can give me a pic of the internals so i can see about getting it back together?

You are probably having trouble putting the two clam shell halves together right? That is because the OEM handlebar had a hole drilled in the underside for a tab, in the lower clam shell, to fit into. It was there to prevent the switch assembly from twisting or moving up and down the bar. Two choices. Drill a hole or cut off or bend that tab.

Nope, I completely disassembled it to pull the wire harness out of the old handlebars. I have the horn button and headlight dimmer and turn signal wires dangling and need to screw them back down into the housings. I think getting the turn signal button back together and everything sitting back in there correctly is going to be my challenge.

You know you didn't have to do that. Just unplug the wiring at the main harness near the head light. Then pull that through the bars.Pug wrote:snip...................Nope, I completely disassembled it to pull the wire harness out of the old handlebars. .

Actually I think I did that, but can't remember, and if so, I have no idea why I completely disassembled it. and still.....not sure how to put it back together, particularly the turn switch. I think the hi/lo beam and horn just screw down to the housing, but I have to reassemble the turn switch and get everything back in just right.

Re: Disassembled left handle control (switches) can't reasse
Might help if you tell us the make and model of your bike. Guessing you have a Gold wing but beyond that?
Since no one ever pulls that all the way apart it's going to be tough if you didn't take pictures when you took it apart. Since it's sold as an assembly there isn't even a parts breakout of which I'm aware. I am guessing that like most assemblies the parts only fit in one way. Good luck.

I've had some apart but unless I had one in front of me I couldn't tell you how to get it back together. Small springs and ball bearings involved. I know it isn't easy. But That's all I can tell you.
