Yup felt it a few times on the big surprise bumps haha. I've been running the ballistic battery for 3 years now. I use em on all my bikes. It's been a champ. No issues at all. Always a good charge.

And I've just been running stock regulator and rectifier.

Cool, me too. It's being discussed here. I run an eight cell and it's plenty for my 1200 with 1000 heads. I have a Magna Reg/rect on it. You should snap more pics during your builds and start a topic for them. I love seeing them evolve. Its not too late if you did.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

I do have a build thread when I started it a while back. It's been through a number of stages to get to where it is now.

quarefish wrote:Not that it is anything major but have not seen it on another wing. Up here in Canada it gets rather cold and having an old GL1000 one wants to keep the battery life as long as possible as is nasty trying to push start on the flats. Took off the old fairing as put on new 3 way blinkers and kept the lighted rear trunk. Due to the excessive current draw when starting up put a bank of 3 interrupter switches and rewired to control seperately the blinkers, trunk and headlight. After bike fires up throw them on when needed.

They're split tanks off an old Harley. Had to cut and reweld the bottoms in a different way to fit around the radiator cap, and electronics. All the electronics are laid out flat underneath the tanks. I think I have that all documented in my build thread above.

An 86 electrical schematics can be found at Classicgoldwings.com . You join for free, then access manuals under the "Gallery Tech References" banner at the top of the forums page. Here is the link, but I think you need to join to get this to work: http://forum.classicgoldwings.com/galle ... um_id=1963
