VW Bug carb on a GL1000

#1

Post by HankMattice »

Hi, just picked up my first Goldwing! Got a 1979 GL1000 off craigslist. The only issues with it seems to be a terrible re-wiring job that the last guy did. One thing odd though, it has a manifold (looks custom) to remove the stock carb and use what looks like a VW bug carb. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks,
Hank

Welcome to the club. I myself do not have the single carb conversion, but a lot of guys swear by it. They say it works great and do not have to worry about synching and many other issues the original 4 carb set up may have. Is it a home job made out of PVC or a store bought set up?
