eBay seal and gasket kit

#1

Post by brewer013 »

Has anyone used this kit before, seals and gaskets?

I know the argument towards using OEM and I agree that's the best bet but I need gaskets and some seals and it's looking like the seals are hard to come by. I have order other items from 4 into 1 and I haven't had a reason to complain yet.

I've used Athena gasket kits without any issues. I don't remember any longer if I used the head gaskets or bought separate OEM head gaskets. Others may chime in with their experience regarding the head gaskets.

I've heard that the Athena kits have been good across the board. I'm not sure if the one in the link is comparable to that kit though. I'm also more concerned with the seals in the kit.

what seals are you having trouble finding?
I've bought all of the ones I've needed thru Honda.
One thing I noticed missing in that kit is the 3 crush washers and o rings needed if you are replacing the original water pump.

Main crank, both cams, and the one behind the oil pump impeller.

I found the parts crossover list and found the cam seals at Rock Auto. Hopefully they at OEM spec. I ordered the gasket kit from Randakks.
