Who built this one? GL custom in Oklahoma

Post #1 by Not Done Yet » Thu Oct 11, 2018 8:09 pm

I keep an eye on the custom builds on here, but if this one has a build thread I must have missed it. Lots o' rake and a single leaf spring rear suspension:

I remover a leaf spring bike being started.
Seems it was years ago.

Yes, the leaf spring seems familiar but don't think it was on this bike. But this is very original.
Bikes at present:
80 GL1100 Interstate: Now a Cafe Racer called DRAGON WING.
81 GL1100 collecting dust with about 300,000 miles, known as BLACK BEAUTY
2008 (I think) GL1800 Nice bike but as exciting as the family sedan!
76 GL1100 yes, 1100 with 1000 heads and cams, being customized
A fleet of parts bikes awaiting resuscitation or customization or abandonment :IDTS:

You are correct and thanks! The other Goldwings here out-voted me on this bike.
This is likely going to be a long-term project. Should be fun!

I agree. If that was delivered by a transport company I would not be pleased with the way that was tied down.

that and how they ran the straps over it. especially the one over the front tire. I'd be surprised if it didn't bend the rim.
