Speedometer and tachometer cushions

#1

Post by tlbranth »

I read a thread back a while ago, which I can't find now, where someone had found that a later goldwing cushion (the soft rubber gasket between top and bottom) would fit the earlier gauges. So I went looking and the oldest GW I can find with the cushion available is a 1980 GL1100. Anyone know if this will fit a '75 GL1000?

The cushions for those GL1100 bikes and the early 1980's CB900C's should be a direct fit into the GL1000 chrome gauge holder. I have used the CB900C ones in my 1976 GL1000, since I have lots of spare gauges from those CB models.
Current Bikes:
DISPLAY MODELS:
1966 CL77 - Honda 305cc - Dual purpose - "Gentleman's Scrambler" was a period moniker.
1967 CL175K0 - Low production number with #802 engine serial- winter 2019/2020 full restoration.
1972 CB350F - Baby Four with low mileage - Cosmetic refresh to the next level 2021/2022.
RIDERS AND FUN TOYS:
1978 CB550K - Very original bike with only 7499 Km. from new - light cleanup and refresh done.
1983 CB1100F - Canadian model - DOHC Supersport in pristine low kilometre condition from new.
1984 CX650E - Restored summer 2017 - a rare Eurosport model - excellent one owner bike.

Thanks Fly. I'll add a couple of those for a 1980 GL1100 to my OEM order.

Yes they did. They look identical to the originals to me. But I think they were '80 not '82.

A quick bump. I verified these cushions also fit my 1981 CB750C.

I like these parts places that show all usage, as long as you can find a part number. https://www.partzilla.com/product/honda ... 35-323-700

Exactly. I sort of prefer Bike Bandit because they keep you informed, free shipping after $99, but their search interface is clunky (I told them they should address that), and they only tell you that there's one part per assembly, even if it actually requires 4 or 16 or whatever. Partzilla has cheaper prices and usually they show all parts in the diagram and how many you need per assembly, but $149 to get free shipping and they don't keep me up-to-date.

I just redid my GL1000 gauges and got the cushions from Partzilla. Cheap price compared to what I paid for my CB750 gauge cushions several years ago. The cushions Partzilla fit well.
