educate me on comms systems!

Post by 5speed »

My wife has mentioned she would like to be able to communicate with me while we are riding.
Neither of us have any interest in being able to stream music, listen to the radio, tune into Cape Canaveral, etc.
We just want the ability to talk to each other while riding. We are never out of direct line of site from each other so we don't need something I can communicate with the space station over.
Both of use wear a modular helmet and I have a full face one as well.
What do you folks suggest for a system that won't require a second mortgage?

A few of my friends use Sena 20s. They think they are good.

My wife and I initially bought a Shark Audio SHKMHF6 blue tooth setup for our helmets and I think at the time they were the most affordable however we essentially got what we paid for. They did work so to speak and had decent range but volume control stunk, I'd have to have my turned up all the way just so I could hear my wife and the build quality was cheap, where it mounted to the helmet was plastic and easily broken. We now how Sena SMH10's, more expensive but build quality is much better and volume control and the sound quality is much better than our previous Shark setup.
