Thanks for adding me to the group! This was my Covid lockdown project! A 78 GL1000. Where I started, through a full frame off restore, to finish product.

How about some outside pictures o ce the clouds clear. J think you may have missed a few rebuild notes and did not say how long before Covid did the bike sit. More information is always welcome.

The bike sat since 1987. The exhaust sounds very nice! Took it out for it’s first ride today! We rode to Hell (Michigan) and back! Rode very nice. Single PICT 34 carb setup which I went to an empty school lot and did some carb tweaking before we setout and it ran really nice. AND YES...New timing belts were installed along with every bearing on the bike replaced with new. Tires are new as well. Going riding with my son tomorrow to put some more miles on it but so far so good!

OK we have seen pic of the exhaust and a description that they sound very nice, now I am thinking that the expense may be worth it. Are you able to do a sound file/video and post it? I am now "Jonesing" for a Delkevic system for my 78. BTW nice job on your 78.

I have a Delkevic for my CB750. Bike isn't built yet but the system has nice thick flanges, clean bends, and the welds are all high quality. Polish is very good as well. I have spare exhaust for my GL and I'm still considering a Delkevic for it.

I have a Delkevic system on a 75 I picked up. With the baffles out, it sounds pretty darn good.

For those that wanted to hear the Delkevic exhaust on the 78, here is youtube video of it running with the baffles still installed.

Nice, throaty but not obnoxious. I like it.
