Re: Poor little LTD!
Looks like a couple that I've rescued, but the engine is shot with the intake open like that. If the carbs and airbox were still onm it would be $200 over-priced, but fixable.

Re: Poor little LTD!
Sad to see that.
I recently visited a motorcycle junkyard in the area which had a lot of Goldwings and it was sad to see all those bikes which once plied the highways majestically now just sitting there for parts scroungers.

Re: Poor little LTD!
I understand that these motorcycle dumps / depots are very common in the US, and some are really huge. Sure, it breaks your heart to see all those motorcycles left to their fate, but they can certainly be a good source of parts to allow other motorcycles to continue racing for years. in Italy these deposits do not exist, or at least I have never heard of them. when a motorcycle is taken off the road, either the owner sells the parts online, or it is delivered to demolition centers and destroyed within days. only a few end up in Eastern European countries, but the bureaucratic procedure is a bit complicated and annoying. it also takes time.AZNGW Rider wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 2:14 pm Sad to see that.

Re: Poor little LTD!
Paola, Yes there are parts that can be re-used. I got a good set on forks to replace the ones on my 1976 GL-1000 since they are pitted. I may have to go back and see if there are other parts I need. I took a lot of pictures and if I can figure out how to post them from my camera I will do so.

Sorry to say but I have one almost like that. I bought it and a 75 and got the 75 running for a friend but I don't think I will ever get the LTD running again.
