Wheel Bearing Removal and Replacement Made Easy

Years back when I was restoring my '78, I had trouble getting the first bearing out of one of the wheels. I asked here for advice on getting it out with less effort the next time, and I was was quickly rewarded with one of the greatest, simplest, and funniest ways to do the job. Ever since then I've been wanting to do a YouTube how-to video to show the technique, and recently I finally did. I wish I could remember who told me the trick so I could give him credit, but anyway, I always appreciated it. Here's a link to the video - I hope you find it helpful.

Good video. Use a bolt to do the same. Like the length of the bearing removal tool. When installing bearings, I put the bearing in the freezer for a few hours, or even overnight to shrink the bearing ever so little then install the bearing in the bearing sleeve.

Many of the bearings and high tension pins on the helicopters I used to work on would not go in unless frozen overnight. When we would get into a pinch and not have time someone would run out in town and get some dry ice. An hour or so and they were ready to install.

Nicely done! It's much easier to show in a video than try to explain in writing, lol. Just an FYI, one will need two sizes of rod/ bolt for our Wings, 3/4" diameter for the front, and 1" for the rear...
