Yep, except that I think mine sticks out farther and I need a wrench. And it was probably a lot cheaper too.
I was told about doing that by one of my mentors in bike repair some time in the last century. I think the original method involved welding a bolt to the frame but since my frame has a tube from one side to the other right behind the holes the covers plugged into.....
i have a 3D printer but i don't know how to do complex curves like that yet. trying to make the same part for the sportster now. if i figure it out i'll let you all know...but don't wait up lol.

I had both scanner and printer but I donated them to the county library for their maker space. I have access to them though. Along with several other finer quality 3d printers.
