More Sad News Calif Wingnut

Just heard we lost another long time member. Jeff Maltby aka "calif wingnut" struck out in March.

information is limited but I believe he was fighting Throat cancer.

Jeff was a walking encyclopedia of Goldwing information and provided many enjoyable articles about the early days of our passion.

His many contributions and articles will be missed.

Sad news indeed, as I do remember he was active on the site with lots of good info and links to deals on various parts and bikes.
Thoughts go out to his family.
Current Bikes:
DISPLAY MODELS:
1966 CL77 - Honda 305cc - Dual purpose - "Gentleman's Scrambler" was a period moniker.
1967 CL175K0 - Low production number with #802 engine serial- winter 2019/2020 full restoration.
1972 CB350F - Baby Four with low mileage - Cosmetic refresh to the next level 2021/2022.
RIDERS AND FUN TOYS:
1978 CB550K - Very original bike with only 7499 Km. from new - light cleanup and refresh done.
1983 CB1100F - Canadian model - DOHC Supersport in pristine low kilometre condition from new.
1984 CX650E - Restored summer 2017 - a rare Eurosport model - excellent one owner bike.

Sad news indeed. He was a friend I met through Fleabay and NGW. We talked a few times. I only had a few days here and over a few weeks when he told me about his throat cancer. I miss him already. RIP buddy.

I am saddened to read this. I never got to speak with him but we exchanged quite a few emails over the last number of years. He helped me find parts I was looking for and would often just send me information he thought would interest me. He often posted pictures and information on here all depicting his long time love of motorcycles and cars too. Rest In Peace Jeff.

So very sorry to hear this. I had many text conversations with him over the years, even had some parts from him on occasion. He was always upbeat but pragmatic about his condition, determined live life as fully as he could. He was also something of joker; he loved winding folk up. His huge knowledge will be missed. RIP Jeff and condolences to his family.

Jeff really was a Wingnut. I wish I knew a fraction of his wing knowledge and he was eager to share his knowledge. A few years ago he helped me sell my ‘84 Standard to a gentleman from Poland of all places. RIP my friend.
