75 carb leaking

#1

Post by GL1-242 »

Hey All,
just put new seals in my carbs. It started and ran but started to leak fuel from #4 and lower the idle. then turn the gas off and it stopped leaking and then the idle raised up and ran more normal. Me and guy next door are thinking the needle and seat are the culprit. I'm going to try and put in a used needle and seat and see if that fixes it. If not I will be swapping my LTD carbs and cross my fingers there not clogged. If that doesn't work I will be bringing up the van.

The next time you do a rebuild, hook up a bottle of 91% isopropyl alcohol to it and let it set overnight to check for leaks.

So before installing the carbs on bike just connect a makeshift tank and fill with the alcohol. Let it gravity feed into carbs.
