Hello from Australia

Hello All,
I have had a few Goldwings over the years back when I lived in the UK (my first 63 years in the UK and the last 8 here in sunny Australia) in the UK I had one GL1000 (why did I ever sell it?) and three GL1200's.
Just bought a1975 GL1000 in need of a bit of attention, but its coming on well and hope to be riding him (Herman) in the next few weeks as parts arrive, not looking forward to servicing the carbs though.
Anyway this is a great site with loads of info which is very helpful as doubtless there will be loads of questions as time goes by.
Cheers Jim

Welcome. Carbs are no problem as long as you are patient and pay attention to detail. And be prepared to swap in and out a few times until they are right. I test for leaks with isopropyl from an auxiliary tank before installing.

Hi pidjones,
Thanks very much for the welcome and advice, great idea to test for leaks on the work bench.
