KW Enterprise Triple Tree

Trying to install a KW Enterprises triple tree on my 1976 GL1000. I cannot get the brackets tight enough to cinch onto the fork tubes. Anyone else using a KW triple tree have similar problems? Is it safe to use shims?

I didn't know that they offered one for your bike. Are you sure of the fitment? I wouldn't shim a triple tree.

I bought it second hand. I cannot find anything about the KW kits or products. When did fork tubes change sizes on the Goldwings?

curious as to what is the purpose of removing oem tree and installing a KW? is there a benefit?

The leading link fork set up I had on a 1000 was shimmed, from the manufacture, so should be OK...

The only KW triples I saw on their site were for raking out HDs. The 1000s had 37mm tubes, 39mm for 1100s, 41mm (I think) for 1200s.
