expensive bangup

Saw this one today on one of the trucker groups of FB and shared it to one of my Helo groups. From what I was told this was a Brand New S-92 being transported to it's final assembly destination. It tore the main transmission from it's mounts and ripping it approximately 2 foot through the frame of the aircraft. About 90% sure that will result in a stricken Aircraft. Possibly up to or over a 30 million dollar write off.

I don't "think" the Govt is on the hook for this yet. Still owned by the manufacturer until it is bonded out. Those manufacturing liabilities are very specifically spelled out by the contracts when they are awarded.

I will never understand how this happens on a known route to your destination..especially with tools like google maps, earth at your disposal..
the time it takes to do a "map recce" would be insignificant compared to that..
