Thanks for the tip on the gaskets. I'll file that one away and surely pull it out someday.

Good luck on the carb issue. It would be nice if they were easier to install/remove, though it's not that frustrating after about the third time. The real frustration comes in just having to pull them after you think you've sorted them - at least that's my experience with them.

On first glance, I thought the bike was a GL1100, what with the saddle and the crash bars. (Are the bars off an '82?) I like them a lot more than the older ones that have that third mount up by the fuel pump and petcock.

I gather that's your home in the background.

Crash bars are from a 84. Bars from all the 4 cylinder wings will fit but sometimes will need minor tweaking. Background is the St Louis Art Museum and the famous Art Hill (great for sledding). I think the carb issue is sorted and now on to the brakes. Rear caliper need servicing.

Rear caliper cleaned up and re-installed today. Gave the rear wheel a good cleaning while i had the opportunity. Several years ago I stripped and polished both rims. Front brakes will only need the pads and rotors cleaned. Still not running quite right as there seems to be an air leak somewhere and very slow returning to idle. I'll check the sync again since I had the rack off again.

Good progress, always better to have the brakes fixed before the carbs. You will find this air leak for sure.
