I had the same problem. After three "real dyna's", I went to a C5 system. Works perfect for the last 5 years

Quick google looks like the c5's aren't around anymore.
My 79 came with what I assume is an older Dyna, seems to work alright.
That thing likely sat for 20 years before I got it, don't know how long Dyna has
been around.

not hard to believe. They were expensive....but in my opinion, worth every penney. They were made from componits, made by other companies. Mostly automotive racing stuff. Well proven stuff. The ability to control the ignation curve, on the fly is only one of the great features.

C5 is still very active but I do not know about Bikes anymore. I know on FB he is big on smaller size pulling tractors. I believe he does ignition systems and I think he has been developing exhaust manifolds as well.

Yes, C5 is very active on FB, but it appears to be mostly manifolds as you say. Looks like he is dabbling back in ignitions, but as of now, you cannot buy one new.
