Having a little hangup over the size of the site. I signed up for a 60G service and when they tried to extract what they had zipped it hit the 60G mark and shut off. Of course their first response was that we needed a bigger Server. Well we don't really at least until they prove to me that we do. Studying on it a bit tonight I really suspect they got 2 copies of one particularly large directory. I found one of their zip files and it was 28G where the directory itself was only 14. So we are currently working through those issues.

So it looks like we lost a few posts today and possibly a few from last evening but the move is complete. The new DNS Propagated quicker than expected and the SSL is installed. Everything is working except the email notifications and they are trying to figure that out.

Looks good from my pov. Those lost posts were probably made after your final backup and before the switch. Great job.

I can get into the sight via Firefox, my go to browser, but not Chrome. I get a "ngwclub.com is almost here" message from Dreamhost. I get the same message with Microsoft Edge and am not able to get to the site.

However if I do a search with Bing for ngwclub.com and click the link from the search I can get in with Edge, same is true with Chrome. I noticed with the Chrome and Edge browsers the address is ngwclub.com. The Firefox address is https://www.ngwclub.com

Yea I think most of those type of issues will resolve themselves given a bit of time. I will take anther look at the propagation map in a bit

Here are the 2 propagation maps. The first from yesterday afternoon and the second from a few minutes ago. Apparently propagation is a moving target?? I know for most of the day yesterday when I did a DNS Search about a third of the time the site showed under the old server. Now it shows at the new one only.

I suspect some browsers will need to have their cache cleared. Probably check Google for your specific browsers.

We still have several issues to resolve and a program update to perform so another day or two and hopefully we will see this wrapped up.

Yea we lost 16 or 18 hours I think, maybe a bit more. I do have a more current backup than the one they used but we are 48 hours past that now so all those posts would be lost. So we go forward from here.

Still have some issues we are working on:

The gallery while still there and loading pictures in the posts, will not load the front page of the Gallery. So basically we have no control over the gallery. I can get in the back and manipulate files directly but no programing controls. I have an idea on what may have caused that and will work it this evening.

The program that runs our board itself (PHPBB) is over due for an update. The contractor is attempting to do that but he will not move forward without a current to the hour backup.

Unfortunately the new server is blocking our attempts to do a current backup. The control panel is completely different than what we had on the other server so it may well be a simple fix we just have not figured out yet. So working that issue.

And last but not least the email is still wonky. Jeff is getting notices but I am not. Needs to be 100% for the new registered folks to get the link to complete the registration process

Considering the size and scope of this evolution I am happy that is all we have found wrong so far!!
