The "carburetorstore"
Recently bought a fan sw for my 1200. The store is on E-bay. they claimed it fit my model and year. Looked good when it got here, but the threads were to small. Returns, thru E-bay where impossible to follow. Seem to recall reading where someone else had the same problem, and used an adapter to make it fit. Wondering if the switch held up

Re: The "carburetorstore"
I bought one off Amazon for $30. last fall that fit perfectly (1984 GL1200) and pre tested correctly temp wise with a Candy thermometer in boiling water. When installed it worked correctly and was no problem so far for the few months of riding before winter.

Mine looks great but the threads are to small. Guess I could find an adapter. but would rather not have to.

Re: The "carburetorstore"
The CX/GL500/650 fan switch has 16mm threads and the one for 4 cylinder GoldWings has 18mm threads. As far as I can tell they are otherwise identical. (I imagine both sizes are used on other liquid cooled models too)
Have you tried contacting the seller directly? I bought one for Mr.H on eBay a few years ago (can't remember the seller's name) and was also sent the 16mm version. I contacted the seller directly and they sent me the correct replacement with no mention of sending the incorrect one back so I now have a spare for my CX.

I have not tried to contact the seller.
life kind of got in the way. I'll just keep it. Add it to my collection of such things. Which I usually wind up needing somewhere down the line.

Re: The "carburetorstore"
This is what I bought off Amazon and it fit the GL1200 perfectly with the correct fittings for the electrical plug and proper sized threaded bung. No issues with the part working correctly. It is a Chinese product, yet pretty easy to access if a replacement is required.
The Honda OEM was upwards of $200.00 Canadian, so I took a chance on this item.
