Maybe this is our year for the Cabot trail

After our trip last summer up the ALCAN to Alaska (with our toy hauler). I said, you know I could do that on the motorcycle...

The look from across the room was clear that she was not going to do that many miles....

So innocently I said, I could do it alone.... well, that did not go well!

So, looking at the map it is about 1500 miles to the Cabot trail and with two bikes I am thinking 4.5 days with a break at a friends house in Kennebunk ME. This would be generally doing a more scenic route and avoiding the slab as much as possible, and trying to not get too close to NYC.

It would be a beautiful ride. If you can go into Connecticut to avoid NY NY, it is also a beautiful state.

That would be a great run. Just go up 99 through western Pa and go across NY state. The ride across NY can be really beautiful. When I lived in Brunswick we would go through NH and Vermont and over around Albany to get to over to the western NY area.

This is about a hundred miles longer but would be worth it to miss all that east coast "stuff".

I have done that route twice right after I retired to Kennebunk. Nice scenery except I81 in northern PA sucks... Actually, I stayed on I81 through Harrisburg to Binghamton. Did go through Altoona a lot when we lived in Western PA. Through southern NH and VT is a really nice drive
