Bad day, had to say goodbye to my Dog

Some of you have met Bubba. He was a unique individual. He did not like everyone but those he did were under his protection for life. That was a job he took very seriously.

He started acting sluggish yesterday out of the blue. By supper time it was obvious something was wrong. This morning at the Vet they said his abdomen was full of blood from a ruptured Cancer. At 11 and a half he was not a good candidate for the surgery so we said our goodbyes. He will be greatly missed.

I bet he would have protected me as well. He was a young man so hard to say goodby so early. Words cannot express.

Thanks guys. Over 10 years together and he was a big part of our World. Because of his very protective nature he required special attention and handling to keep him and those around him safe. As a result he was in our thoughts pretty much constantly.

Pup ( Cinnamon, 2 year old Akita/Husky Mix) is pretty mopey as is Wife. Going to meet with Kira (the Akita Rescue Lady) Saturday and do a meet and greet with a possible Foster dog. Need something to change the mood in here.

Our 14 year old Akita mix Wilma finds him attractive. How does he feel about a cougar?

It's hard to say goodbye to a furry companion. I did get to meet him, and I have to admit he scared me somewhat. Steve explained to me how to handle him, which was to pretty much give him his space until he figured me out. Steve and Rusty are the 2 best keepers companions and friends a dog could possibly have.
