Well, several hours of thinking, and trial and air, I got the springs back in today. Built a fixture that allows me to do it by myself. Will to the forks on my other 1200, and then never again. Thanks For all your suggestions. Threw the alt. belt for some reason. Thats the next project to deal with. Thankfully the 78 is in good shape now, so I can escape for a few hours if I have to.
