I decided that even though the bike was only about 95% that this was the time to give it to my daughter. SHE LOVED IT! Shannon, her husband to be Chris and his son Sacha will be visiting in August. They may drive out and take it home in the Land Rover. If not, I'll have it shipped after I get all the bugs out. I think her favorite part is the color!

Life is good! She just informed me that she wants me and her Dad to walk her down the isle. I could not be more proud! And she wants my son to sing one of my favorite songs "Annies Song" at the ceremony in Rocky Mountain National Park. I think this old bird may just have a good cry that day!

I put this project off to clean up the LTD, finish the 898 and reupholster the Caddy. Finally I got to the 90. I could not figure this one out so I took it to Tom.
Image

He couldn't look at it for awhile, but when he did he figured it out. I guess the points cam (sleeve?) was off by 180 so we had spark and compression, but not at the same/right time. We reinstalled the cam with dot and line lined up and PRESTO! She is running great. I have only put on a few miles but had her up to 42 mph. Very cool and this about ends another project. I will need to start looking for a winter project!

Congratulations to your family on the up coming wedding. My first bike was a S-90 that I rode for 17000 miles through high school. Nice job on the trail 90.

Well, a happy ending to this tale. As you know I did not end up giving this bike to my daughter. As we were trying to figure out how to get the bike to her, she found out she was expecting. (Pretty sure there is no correlation!) Anyway, she did not feel comfortable riding after that. I finally decided a couple weeks ago to find it a good home. I was going to post a CL ad, but never got that far. I was telling an attorney friend of mine about it (yes we have friends) and I suggested he look at this thread. Immediately after that he decided he could not live without it! Long story short, he and his boys will be tooling around Marblehaed Ohio on a "new" 1970 Trail 90. Happy Trails John!
