Thanks for the comments, the bike does gather attention. Everyone that walked by it while it was parked stopped, looked it over and smiled. I agree, cannot get the smile off my face either.

Yes indeed !!
Beautiful build. Great read and such attention to detail.
The B&W photo is a great look.
Hope to see it someday.

Same here. Hadn't seen this build and went through from start to finish.

Well-deserved recognition!

A great read and an awesome build! Any time that special parts need to be made to get the bike out of the shop, well that has to be a bonus. Congrats on BOTM!!!

Excellent work, Mr. Millwright. Now, you & your daughter need to design some colors to wear during your rides.
I enjoyed the posts.

Thanks for all the comments. I am smiling. Over the past winter there where some things I wanted to change and the paint was one of those items. For 30 years old it looked pretty good but I thought I would renew the original black color and pin striping. While I was doing the painting, I thought might as well add some thing to Pops bike to make it my own. I just got the tank cover back today and all the tank and side covers still need clear but the pic will give you an idea on the new colors. What do think?

Very nice on the new colors...I love the look of those carbs. I will now quote ZZ Top, " Oh, I'm bad, I'm nationwide. Yes I'm bad, I'm nationwide."
That should be playing in the background every time you ride.

An inspiring piece of work Millwright...especially for someone beginning a project. I have heard a 78 with webers and I think jardine pipes on the youtube ,very impressive. Since you are not all that far away from me , perhaps I will get to hear your machine one day as well......great job and even better that you posted so much on here. anim-cheers1 Gary

A lot of you have commented about getting the bike out of the basement, and for the rest of you that are crazy enough to try, here is how I got mine out. It actually was not to bad. What you can not see is my pickup truck backed up to the door with a 12 volt cable winch connected to the bumper hitch ball. I am glad that I now have a garage and no longer have to put the bike in the basement.
