giveup OK folks, I need some help here. :?: I know I posted that the old ignition system is shot, I think I have tried everything to get fire to the plugs, but still no luck. :IDTS: Before I spend over $300 on a new system, I want to be sure. :shock: Could you please post things for me to check? Anything that comes to mind. I know I may have done it already, but hopefully someone will post something I have missed. :-?

Here is a quick run down on the low down on what I have done to check;
Cleaned and sanded all connections in the wiring harness to ensure a good connection.
I have check the wiring diagram in the manual to make sure everything is connected as it should be.
I have a old DynaTech system and I have contacted the tech support and they have given me the wiring diagram for that system.

I am almost to the point of pulling the trigger on a new DynaTech System, crying1 but I hate to spend the money if I overlooked a simple solution. fly into a rage

Thanks Guys & Gals for the help. You have been awesome and spot on so far, lets see if we can do it again. :dunno:

Might sound crazy but have you checked and cleaned your ground connections?

+1 on the crazy things: Are you absolutely sure that the battery is at 100%?

Good thoughts. I have a new battery that was charged 24 hours before the install. I will double check the ground since I had a issue with it when I reinstalled the ground cable.

I had the same no spark on my 76 after doing some work on the carbs. My system is the older

Dyna with the black box. There should be a ground wire for the box itself. If that is not grounded,

no sparky.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have checked all of the above with no success. Things have been on hold as I am trying to get some money together to finish this little project up. I am going tomorrow to purchase a donor bike. It has a Dyna System that has never been installed. If all goes well, I will have my next project sitting in the corner when this one is complete! I don’t need a lot to get this one going now, and I can pick up the parts I pull off the donor as I get more working budget. Who knows, maybe a his and hers when I am done. I will post photos of the donor (which is blue) when I pick it up tomorrow!

Now I have hit the jackpot! The tires, front and rear are good! They are almost new. The previous owner had bought a old wing as a donor bike and included a box of parts. In this box is two complete sets of ignition systems! the stock set and a Dyna Set! Also in the box are two sets of covers, another gauge cluster and almost everything electrical except the harness. Heck, that may be there too since I still have not found the bottom of the box!

SO, I may not have to pull much from this "donor bike" after all and I may have just found my next project! We shall see how this goes!
