Traffic alert:
SR 20 Both Directions - SR 20 remains closed in both directions from four miles west of the Loup Loup Pass summit at milepost 211 to Rock Creek at milepost 223 due to water over the roadway, mud slides, washouts, and road repair work. Currently there is no estimated time for reopening and no local detour available. Motorists can use SR 153 through the Methow Valley as an alternate route.

But after your "short cut" maybe you can just enduro through it

Great pic's. Good to hear your back on the road again and made it safe to your motel.

Sounds like Mrs west is vegan? I have no idea how to cook a portabella but I'll do my best. I talked to the wife and were hoping to eat around 7pm but that is flexible depending. Your welcome to arrive earlier, my wife gets home around 4pm I'll be there just after 5pm

DUGG thanks for the highway update. After careful consideration and checking the weather in all the passes, it seems we will have to take 90 all the way from Spokane. Better safe than sorry!

We will gladly help with the preparation of things if we arrive early enough. Don't worry!

KG definitely saved the day yesterday! That pass was serious! I had no idea things would get so dark, scary, cold and dangerous but KG got us out of there confidently and made me feel safe with his attitude about it. It wasn't til we were warm in our hotel that I realized he had his doubts too!

I do recommend that pass from Thompson Falls to Panguitch though, on a nice day of course. It was stunning, one of the most beautiful forests I've seen.

Unfortunately I took no pictures 'cause it was so cold! But here are a few from yesterday anyway.

I had to stand on my head for the one pic.

Just wondering if Mrs west is vegan or vegetarian? Try to make sure we have food to suit her needs.

Vegetarian, thanks for asking!

Sorry I guess some iPhone pictures come up sideways. I don't know how to fix that. They're right side up on my phone. :dunno:

Anybody happen to have a spare speedometer cable?

:-D

Great news about the cable DUGG. And yes. I can't seem to give up dairy. Cheese and ice cream are too important to me. Thanks for clarifying!

Im working in Everett tomorrow, plan to head out early and head up to Hamsters place late evening. See you guys there! BTW, if you come over Snoqualimie pass, I recommend you turn north at North bend, bead north to Monroe and then highway 2 to I-90 at Everett. Seattle traffic really sucks. You can bypass it this way and have a nice ride too.

Sunnbobb, So I'm getting a little confused or are you? I thought we were all meeting at my place. My wife has bought all the food, it is here. We have a bed made and ready for Mr & Mrs west. If things have changed let us know.
