Will be on the road Monday morning Early. Bike is ready but still have to pack a bag. Need to finish up some chores here before that happens. Go 45 pounds of pork butts on the smoker and that will mean an entire evening of processing and packaging tonight. Tore up my Mower out in the country last week so I need to fix that and get the grass cut tomorrow. Always a list of things to do before a trip.

We'll be leaving early Monday also. Dropping down 79 into West Virginia and then heading west. What's your planned route, maybe we'll run into each other?

Straight out 58 across to Abingdon Va then Alt 58 to 23 in Norton then 119 to the Ky line then pickup 15 in Whitesburg and that should carry me up to Slade

Steve this a quicker route where you can avoid a lot of the twisties on 58. Google maps will show only a minutes difference but I know from recent experience that if you take 16 north from Volney to Troutdale then turn left on 603 you will be running along a valley floor, much straighter and faster. There is a dog leg in the middle of it so watch for it. You'll rejoin 58 not far from Damascus.

Volney is hard to miss, it has the Corner Market and Cafe that houses a convenience/grocery store and a restaurant as well as gas pumps.
The restaurant lies right in the triangle created by the junction of 58 and 16.

I put 26 individual packages of pork into the freezer. I put up 16 Smoked Cornish Game hens last week. Love having this stuff during the winter.

Volunteered last night at bike night at the AMA headquarters, not a bad time. Bike is ready, Doug will be here later today. Big thing I have is the day after we get home from Slade. I leave for 13 days in the RV to Florida. So that must be ready to roll before I leave for the run.

What is really wrong, I want to be in line with Fred Camper liking your butt........................

When they came off the smoker. Took the next 4 hours of cutting and vacuum sealing to put them up, less what I had for dinner of course!
