Stephen,
Sorry to hear of your accident. I hope you heal up fast and will be riding again soon. You will be missed. Hitting a pothole going around a corner, I don't like hitting them straight on.
What bike where you riding?
Take care.

I was on my 1983 GL1100 Standard. From Bud's photos, I think the engine guards did their job, so the drive train came out pretty much unscathed. I wouldn't trust the frame again.

sparkyrasmus wrote: Sun Aug 22, 2021 11:50 pm Sorry that I will be missing this one. Bud (Fargo Four) and I were riding out together and I was caught in a wind sheer on a sweeping curve. I tried all my riding lessons and realized that I couldn't get my bike to lean into the curve. I took to the ditch, hit a pothole, flipping the bike am me into the air. The bike is toast, I am now in Oakes ND enjoying the hospitality at the local heath care overnight. A couple fractured ribs, a dislocated thumb and a hyperextended knee. Wear your protective gear friends. And be safe. And mostly, I will be missing you all this gathering. Ride safe, smile and eat some bugs for me. Stephen.
Very glad you weren't hurt worse. We have some extortionary winds up here (they have blown 18 wheelers off the road) and I've been hit by a gust that made the tires feeling like they were sliding out from under me. Very unnerving.

Sorry to hear that Sparky. We've run into some very nasty crosswinds down here in Wyoming so I ken what you went through. I hope you're well soon. Will you need help sorting the bike or arranging passage home?
