Sent my seat off to the upholstery shop, $250, even with my crazy ideas. He's going to flush mount the LED tail light strip into the back of the seat. Looking forward to this. I went for this pattern, see below.

That looks super uncomfortable! Hopefully it's solid gel like 3/4" thick!

There are so many elements I love - saddle bag, forks (must handle super?), distressed paint, vintage HM wings, what a great job!

I think the gloss stripe would add to the appeal...
Agreed, including great exhaust pipes!

Oh for sure. Im just using that for the stitching pattern, rolls and other things (I don't know upholstery lingo). It's about 2" off padding in the seat area. The upholster was also concerned and helped design something that will hopefully be a comfortable ride.

Went to start the bike and a loud consistent crunching noise from the starter and no engine turn. This isn't the normal whine of the starter but a like a grindin noise. Any ideas? I really, really don't want to pull the motor.

Sometimes if the starter clutch is not completely gummed up, right at the end of the whinning, you will here the starter clutch partially engage the engine. Sounds a bit like grinding.

Could still be the starter clutch. Sometimes warmer weather, and more riding, less sitting can solve the problem. Type of oil effects it. and the weight of the oil. Worse case, reat cover has to come off.....which means engine has to come out

10. We got started by pushing it down a hill popping the clutch. Going to drain a quart of oil out and replace it with Marvel mystery oil.

My friend came over and help sync up the carbs, running much better now. I was able to fabricate the screen insert for the side cover. Just need to Epoxy glue it in.
