I played in the shop a bit this evening as well, installed the rear wheel and driveline and plumbed the rear brake (still need to get a better pic of that mount...).
And, right before calling it a night I sliced and diced on the new tank (no parenthesis needed :8) ) and dropped it roughly into place.
This is good.

Had to edit the photos a bit funny since the light is so low.

Love your build. My question is that I too have the same carb conversion but I am uninspired with the raw metal color of the carbs. What paint did you use to paint your carbs or is it another process? powder coat?

This is the coolest wing I have ever seen. I love it. Posted a link to your build on DTT cause it fits over there too. Everybody was impressed to say the least.

Keep it up.

Thanks again folks.
Sorry I did't have the time to caption the above pics, but supposedly each one is worth a thousand words....

Basically, it's moving along. Been putting a lot of work into the tank lately. I've been able to make a little more than half the volume into usable fuel storage, that combined with the aux. tank underneath should give it a pretty good capacity.
Big things left are:
Tank and fuel plumbing
Seat
Head light and turn signal control wires
A handful of other little things and it should be ready for a spin around the block.

The throttle links are all in place and the throttle is mounted, the feel is very nice, I've got 1/4 turn on the throttle to equal lock to lock on the carbs (doubt the Webber's will need to go to WOT though) and they have a nice snap back return now (still need to mount the return spring, had to play with a whole box of lengths and weights to get one I liked, had to be pretty long to keep a good feel, going to need to mount it to the back of the radiator fan housing to get it far enough away...)

The rear master seems to work fine, still need to road test it.
I would've just used the original, but it was trashed and this one was free.
The carbs just have some normal old flat black on them. There is a local company here, Castle, they make great coatings and it's a very good rattle can black. I wasn't sure I wanted the carbs black, still not actually, if I like it I will have to powder coat them since the paint is only moderately resistant to gas.
If I don't like the black I can just soak the carbs with lacquer thinner and wipe it off.

Maritime, thanks bud, but what is DTT?
Sounds like I should know about it. ;)

And Marcaine, ME TOO!
