I purposely saved this post for this thread. (see my post count). In honor of this "team build", I will not post on any other thread for 24 hours.

I laud you all for getting together to put one of these beauties back together and back on the road. Ern, I picked up a little something off ebay for you today. When I receive it, I'll forward it on to you. Everybody....keep up the great work!

Al (the treasure trove of Goldwing parts) Wing, Cool! Worked on gauges this morning. Got all lights and temp gauge working. Cleaned them up, brought some shine back with polishing compound and wax and they look pretty good! Need to wire brush the bracket and apply some black enamel. Then I need to check out the wiring mess.

OK... been busy here as well! Took inventory of brake parts,Cyborgs calipers arrived today, though I didnt get photos of them
Image

In the bead blast cabinet for cleaning and assessment. The rear caliper that came w/the bike had a frozen piston,so I went through my spares and found a complete rear brake set up,that I know is in working order and will donate to the project. Even so,all the brake components will be rebuilt, calipers as well as master cylinders.
Image
Image

The brake pads are Genuine Honda, and cleaned up well for reuse. I called Georgefix in Fla. He has agreed to cut us a deal on the front master, and front caliper kits. The rear M/C kit will, however have to come from Honda,as no aftermkt. kits are available for the '75-'77 models. I really would like to have these parts powdercoated. If someone on the list would like to donate their time and product to this project for consideration,I'd like to hear from you! I am going to post in the Wanted section as well.

and signals as well...Beverages Consumed!
I also found a few more bits we will need for 898...

Rat, I am beginning to wonder about the dedication of our partner. You know the one . . . Al! Spoke to him this afternoon and get this . . . he will not be working on Ole 898 tonight because his furnace is out. Can you believe this guy? He said it was 54 in his house. Last I knew pipes didn't freeze until 32. What gives? :IDTS: If I had only known this was the type of guy we were bringing on! Sheeeesh!
